Wing Nuts M4–M6 — A4 Marine 316 Stainless DIN 315
Why choose these Wing Nuts
Our Wing Nuts are manufactured from A4 (316) marine grade stainless steel to DIN 315 — the European standard for German-pattern wing/butterfly nuts. The two flat wings are sized to grip firmly between thumb and forefinger, so the nut can be tightened, released and re-fitted by hand without a spanner. A4-316 contains added molybdenum that gives substantially better resistance to chloride corrosion than A2, making these nuts the right choice for marine, coastal and chemical-exposure environments where a standard stainless nut would still pit and stain.
Sizes available
- M4 / 4mm — small fixtures, brackets and equipment covers
- M5 / 5mm — garden furniture, signage and light fabrication
- M6 / 6mm — marine deck fittings, handrails and general workshop use
Pack options
Each size is available as a single unit sample, or in packs of 10 or 20. Use the variation selectors above to choose the exact combination you need.
Typical uses
- Marine deck fittings, boat covers and outboard motor mounts
- Garden furniture, awnings and outdoor signage
- Equipment covers, access panels and battery enclosures that need to be opened without tools
- Camping and caravan fittings — adjustable poles, tables and trailer accessories
How to fit
Thread the wing nut onto a standard metric bolt or stud and tighten by hand, gripping the wings between thumb and forefinger. For applications that see vibration or where the nut must stay tight under load, pair with a plain washer or use alongside a primary nut as a finger-adjustable backup. The bolt thread should be clean and undamaged for smooth hand-tightening.
