Nyloc Lock Nuts M3–M10 — A2 Stainless Steel DIN 982
Why choose these Nyloc Lock Nuts
Our Nyloc Lock Nuts are precision-formed from A2 (18/8) stainless steel to DIN 982 — the European standard for the full-height (high-form) nylon insert hex nut. As the bolt thread is screwed into the nut it cuts a path through the unthreaded nylon collar at the top, generating an interference fit that resists vibration loosening across a wide temperature range. A2 stainless gives excellent corrosion resistance for indoor and most outdoor environments, including damp and coastal-adjacent settings.

Typical uses
- Automotive, motorcycle, cycle and trailer joints subject to vibration
- Garden furniture, fencing, decking and outdoor signage
- Agricultural and groundscare machinery where shock loads loosen plain nuts
- Workshop jigs, fixtures and any assembly that will be disassembled occasionally — nyloc nuts retain their locking action for a limited number of refits
How to fit
Place the nut onto a standard metric bolt or stud with the plain hex face against the work surface and the nylon collar facing away from the joint. Tighten with a hex spanner or socket — the bolt thread will cut into the nylon insert as it engages, producing the locking action. Use a clean, undamaged bolt thread for best results, and replace the nut rather than re-using if the locking action feels weak.
