How to fit

Pass both legs of the U-bolt over the pipe and through the corresponding holes in the backing plate. Thread on the two nuts and tighten alternately to draw the plate evenly against the workpiece, clamping the pipe between the bolt curve and the plate. Use a spring or serrated washer under each nut where vibration is expected.
