Sizes available

Five gauges using the traditional self-tapper numbering (with metric equivalents): No.4 (2.9mm), No.6 (3.5mm), No.8 (4.2mm), No.10 (4.8mm) and No.12 (5.5mm), across nine length options from 13mm up to 70mm. Choose a length that lets the thread fully clear the second piece of material for a strong grip.

How to fit

Pilot-drill to the size recommended for the screw gauge — typically 0.7× the screw OD for sheet metal and slightly larger for tougher work. Drive with a Pozidriv bit of the correct size (PZ2 for No.6–No.10, PZ3 for No.12), keeping the bit fully seated to avoid rounding the recess. Steady pressure works better than high speed.
