How to fit

Drive with a flat-blade screwdriver that fully fills the slot — a worn or undersized tip will mar the soft brass head. Drop the screw through the workpiece, slip on the washer and run the nut down by hand. Tighten gently with a spanner; brass deforms under high torque, so firm but not crushing is the right setting.
