Dome Nuts M3–M10 — A2 Stainless Hex Acorn DIN 1587
Why choose these Dome Nuts
Our Dome Nuts are manufactured from A2 (18/8) stainless steel to DIN 1587 — the recognised European standard for hex acorn nuts. The polished closed dome conceals the bolt thread, protecting hands and clothing from sharp ends while giving the finished assembly a clean, professional appearance. A2 stainless offers excellent corrosion resistance for indoor and most outdoor environments, including damp and coastal-adjacent settings.
Sizes available
- M3 / 3mm — light fittings, electronics and small craft assemblies
- M4 / 4mm — joinery, brackets and enclosures
- M5 / 5mm — furniture, fencing and panel work

- M8 / 8mm — marine fittings, balustrades and machinery covers
- M10 / 10mm — structural and heavy-duty applications
Pack options
Choose a single unit as a sample, packs of 2 or 4 for spares, 10 or 20 for repairs and small projects, or 50 for larger installs and trade work. Each nut is inspected before packing.
Typical uses
- Marine and boatbuilding — covering exposed bolt ends on deck fittings, cleats and rails
- Garden furniture, outdoor handrails and architectural metalwork
- Bicycle, motorbike and trailer trim where a finished cap is needed
- Public-facing fixtures where exposed threads would catch hands or clothing
How to fit
Thread the dome nut onto a standard metric bolt or stud and tighten with a hex spanner or socket — the closed top means a torque wrench can be used without marking the cap. For best results, leave 1–2 threads protruding beyond a plain nut and cap with the dome nut, or use a bolt long enough to engage the full depth of the cap.
