Why choose this 7mm split spindle

A split spindle keeps the inside handle live while allowing the outside handle to remain dead — essential for nightlatches, deadlatches and entrance doors. This 7mm version is cut from solid steel with precision split ends that disengage cleanly when locked, eliminating the wobble and stiffness associated with worn or bent spindles.

Sizes available

• Lengths from 90mm to 150mm in 5mm and 10mm steps — covers UPVC, composite and timber front doors with 35–70mm door thickness.
• Square 7mm profile — fits all standard UK door handle hubs and uPVC patio handle hubs.

Typical uses

UPVC front doors, composite entrance doors, multi-point lock systems, dual-spring lever sets and split-follower nightlatches. Allows the inside handle to operate even when the outside handle is locked off.

How to fit

Measure the existing spindle from end to end and the depth of each handle hub. Replace the spindle so the split section sits in line with the lock follower’s split position. Slide it through the lock case, refit both handles and secure with the original grub screws on the flats of the bar.
